The following was sent by a friend who just received it by
email from Sandra Crouch, Andrae's sister. I've condensed it a little
because of the length. Andrae' has come a long ways since the 60's when
he was on our Teen Challenge staff in Los Angeles for nearly 4 years as
the Director of Music Ministries. His first LP album was the Addict's
Choir produced on Word label. Andrae's group "The Disciples"
was formed during those years and often sang with the Choir. They were
also part of our team of 17 that initially went to Hawaii in the Fall
of 1969 for a month of ministry throughout the land of Aloha. This
helped lay the groundwork for us to return 6 months later with another
team to officially launch Hawaii Teen Challenge -- and another exciting
chapter of our lives that lasted 9 years.

Andrae' Crouch was at the pinnacle of an extraordinary career when he
was faced with a choice that would change, once and for all, the
direction of his life. The death of his mother, followed in quick
succession by the passing of his father and brother, placed the future
of the New Christ Memorial Church, built by the Crouch family over
forty years ago, on the shoulders of the younger son, Andrae'. The
decision to answer the call to ministry was made all the more difficult
in the light of the extraordinary professional accomplishments Andrae'
Crouch had made in recent years. His 1994 Qwest Records release, Mercy,
had landed the artist his seventh Grammy award, this time for Best Pop
Contemporary Gospel Album. . . . Some of Crouch's most notable songs
include: Just Like He Said He Would, You Can Depend On Me, Perfect
Peace, This is Another Day, My Tribute and many others. . . . .
