UNITED KINGDOM and BELGIUM MINISTRY REPORT
Missionaries Don and Patti Hall
November 2006
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dear Friends and Family,
It was a unique way for Don to celebrate
his birthday -
ministering most of the day with 25 others in the inner-city of Truro, England.
Open-air meetings were held with drama, testimonies and music,
including Don's trumpet. While this was going on, literature was handed
out and friendship evangelism took place on the streets and in the
Coffee Bar at the sponsoring church nearby. Often conversations would
end with prayer for special needs.
Some British people express distain or humor when Christian activity
happens outside the doors of the traditional church. Even police would
only cooperate reluctantly. But that day, 12 people accepted Christ as
their Savior, many received prayer, and hundreds heard the Gospel. What
a great way to celebrate a birthday!
This was just one of many
outreaches in 25
towns that were part
of "Love Cornwall" - a county
located at the SW corner of England. The initiative was a united
evangelistic effort of many churches and denominations. Over 100
members of ministry teams outside of Cornwall, like ours, joined with
local believers.
As a result, more than 10,000 people
were
reached in 70 different
programs. Half of those were youth and children who attended school
presentations. There were many church-based activities and other
outreach events including: free Barbecues where 3,500 burgers were
served, free "cream tea" events, and a final Youth Extravaganza under a
big-top tent. At each venue the Gospel was presented, often using
contemporary music and creative drama and mime.
"Love Cornwall" is not over.
Local churches and ministries are
now engaged in follow-up. A fire has been lit. Churches have been
encouraged &motivated - and believers are becoming mobilized to
reach their communities with God's love. Pray that this flame and heart
for evangelism will spread across England!
During the rest of our trip we were
engaged in church and
Bible College ministry. In Wales, there were two services at a
church in Bangor who has faithfully supported us for many years. In Belgium,
we were there to mainly bless the 120 students at Continental College
& Seminary in Brussels. Don spoke at their chapel service, taught
two classes on Missions and we gave input into the lives of several
students. Another program was with the youth of Christian Center in
Waterloo. A very special treat was our time with Don's sister, Peggy,
and husband who live at the school. Ken is the Campus Pastor at
Continental and Peg heads up Hospitality.
We thank the Lord for His strength and provision - allowing us to be
His servants to reach others. Don is preparing to fly off to the
Philippines on November 11th for another three weeks. He speaks several
times at a Church Leadership conference in northern Luzon, followed by
open-air crusades, prisons, school assemblies - and some Bible School
teaching.
Our hearts are grateful for your friendship and prayerful support that
make all of the above possible.
