Pete and Bev
Spring, 2006

Dear Family and Friends,

Since our last update in February, we’ve heard from several of you that you’re praying for us. We thank you.

God has answered those prayers.

Our much needed car is now a daily part of our lives, a ‘91 Buick in good condition that gets 22 mpg around town and 30 on the highway.

Our airfare to Canada and Fiji has already been supplied.

The Discipleship Training Schools (DTS) in Canada were awesome. A precious group of Koreans one week, then a family school with students from ten nations and seven mother tongues. At least it didn't have to be interpreted. Both groups were hungry for understanding of biblical principles of relationship. Pete spoke in the mid-week open service. We saw a number of visible healings plus many others who testified of other healings.

Bev made significant progress on her writing during our "down times." We also enjoyed daily walks together along the shore of Lake Okanagan and in the quiet neighborhood of the YWAM base..

Local Ministry

For the fifth year, Pete has served on the committee for our town’s Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast. This year we also housed one of the speakers, Col. Al McCarn, who works in the Pentagon.

Currently here as guests at Rancho de la Paz: a missionary couple who just arrived for furlough after several years in Uganda.

Pete is a networker, meeting weekly with four separate pastors’ prayer and share groups in three local cities.

Bev is still looking for time to work on the relationship books. She’s made some progress, but at this rate it will be at least a year before they are finished.

Thank you for your continued prayer.

This is our prayer for you: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and understanding, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ. Philippians 1: 9 & 10

Winter, 2005-06

Dear Family and Friends,

You’re such an integral part of our lives that we count on your prayers and friendship as we carry out the assignments God has given to us. We want to share this update on the year so far.

Bev just returned from a two-week ministry trip to New Zealand. God did all that we’d hoped for, and more:

In New Zealand:

She taught the NZ Christian Writers Guild’s annual retreat. What a receptive and involved group!

Kiwi Writers Retreat

She spent several hours each with two mature Christian Fijian couples to gain a better understanding of the culture of Fiji in preparation for in depth ministry there this summer.

Two churches, the first consisting of transplanted Malaysians, then in the afternoon, a mixed Asian congregation, opened their pulpits and their hearts to me as I gave their Sunday message.

She began the rewrite of my first published book, now out of print. It will become two separate, but related books – one on personal relationships and one on group relationships. We’re looking for appropriate and catchy titles.  Any suggestions, anyone?

During her 7-hour layover in Fiji:

Bev met with key leaders to work out logistics for our Pastors and Wives Seminars in July.

At home while Bev was gone:

Pete kept up his normally busy schedule, covered my chores, and even became an e-mailer.

Pete and Debbie hosted a two-week guest staying in Rancho de la Paz’s Writers Haven.

Looking ahead:

In May we’ll be back in B.C., Canada, for three weeks, first teaching a Korean, then a Family (English language) Discipleship Training School.

In July we’ll be in the four largest cities of Fiji. We’ll train pastors and their wives in Biblical Marriage and Family – providing them each with a set of teaching notes they can later use to teach their own people.

What is privilege it is for us to help train the next generation of Christian leaders.

We know that most of you cannot help our ministry with financial support. But you can do something more important – you can pray for some specific needs:

for wisdom as we prepare and deliver messages at each of the above.

for financial provision for airfare (totaling $2500) to Fiji. As a developing country, they can cover only our ground expenses.

for a good transportation car for us. We’re currently driving a 1989 flatbed Ford. When we need to go someplace nice, we borrow Debbie’s jeep.

for God’s guidance as Bev works on the two books on Relationships.

<>   for continued good health.
